My Expert Service

Whether in person, or by phone, the first response to a tax question is usually a return question. Most tax questions need additional input in order for the responder to provide an accurate and complete answer. The necessity for this initial back and forth engagement is what makes the chat/email platform the ideal format for answering tax questions.

Filing statistics from the most recent tax season clearly indicate a slow but steady migration from in-office preparation to online filing. Even so, tax questions remain as essential to the process as ever, as taxpayers seek to understand as much as possible about their individual tax situation.

I welcome your questions about the form 1040 series, or any of its components, from filing status and exemptions, through income, adjustments, deductions, credits, additional taxes, refundable credits, and on through filing and payment/refund methods.

There is no charge for the first three minutes, which will usually be enough time to formulate your question. A general question can be answered in continued live chat, but most detailed answers will require a single, satisfactory email answer. If I am away, feel free to start an email exchange. I will respond at $0 until your question is framed, and then email the completed answer. Either way, you will not click "hire" until your question is complete and we both have agreed on a fee($10 to $20) for the email answer.

Experience & Qualifications

I have worked for the nation's largest tax firm for three years, and for one year with a competitor. I am a former IRS employee, having worked in collections, arranging payment plans for unpaid tax balances, as well as resolving outstanding issues with unfiled returns. I have taken graduate-level coursework in tax research.

I've noticed numerous areas where taxpayers could benefit from more information. Many clients are particularly knowledgeable about their own tax situation, but seem to somehow lack confidence in completing some aspect of the return. The savvy consumer is best served by planning ahead and assuming responsibility for understanding the content and filing method of the tax return. Now there is a convenient method to have your tax questions answered for a reasonable fee.

I look forward to chatting with you, or exchanging emails, producing an accurate answer to your tax question.
