My Expert Service

We have 25 years experience in running a small farm in the hot, dry deserts of Southern California, growing crops and breeding vegetable plants. We grow Salad Mix, mixed-colored potatoes and carrots, garlic, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and several other items.
We are plant breeders, and grow almost all our own seed. We select for heat and drought tolerance, as well as high germination, vigor, superior nutrition, and production under less than optimum conditions.
We make value added items, like our famous Scartar, an herbal salve, as well as Salad Flakes, our dehydrated salad.
We offer advice for established small farmer looking to boost profits, the yet-to-be farmer, looking to "start-up", the discouraged farmer, ready to give-in.
We offer advice to the concerned vegetable gardener, who lacks time and money, the novice gardener who lacks skills, and the discouraged vegetable gardener, who can't quite understand why the garden doesn't produce what it should.
We also offer advice for the Ag or science teacher, looking for new ways or new seeds, the coach, looking for the best nutrition, the farm consultants, the job seekers, the weary, the un-informed, the worried.
