With 7 years experience in biology and environmental education, and 8 years experience as a green renovator, builder and consultant, I can give builders and homeowners practical answers to their green building questions. I first learned renovation by working on my own home while I was teaching high school. I studied building with a serious emphasis on green practices and building science. My science background has been extremely useful and applicable in my current career. We built the first green certified home in NC under the NC Healthy Built Homes Program. These experiences coupled with my education background allow me to help you with practical answers to your green building questions. I have worked on green building projects across the country encompassing the following topics:
• Green building and renovations in arid, mixed humid and hot humid climates.
• Greening log cabins.
• Green building in flood prone areas (Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans)
• Prescribing fixes to supposed green built houses that did not perform as intended.
