At the age of 21, I left my midwestern home for South Africa. While there, I traveled sub-Saharan Africa and volunteered in a local township. These experiences changed me for life, and in the interim 9 years, I've lived and worked in England, Ireland, Japan, Sweden, Germany, Canada, and France. I've traveled even further afield, and have done so on a very low budget! I can tell you all about airline pitfalls to beware of, hostels that are cheap but clean and friendly, which cities have hidden treasures, and where to go to meet the locals. I'm your one-stop shop for all kinds of advice and encouragement. Make the most of life!
