Parents of children who struggle with behavior and academics often have questions about their school's services, and their children's civil rights to education. And sometimes students just do something that gets them into trouble. I'll answer questions about federal education and discrimination laws in every state, and what the research about effective interventions says. I can answer questions from professionals who want to know how to protect themselves from discrimination claims and how to write legally sufficient IEP's and avoid retaliation for their advocacy on behalf of students with disabilities and/or minority students. I can answer questions about state law in the two states in which I am licensed, Florida and Utah.
I also can answer general questions about personal legal matters like what to do when your child is arrested? Or when someone accuses you of child neglect or abuse, or a crime? Or what to do when the collectors call, or you can't get a response from a businesses customer service department?

Licensed to practice law in 1987, practicing civil rights and special education since 1996 up to and including a writ of cert to the United States Supreme Court. Former prosecutor, assistant city attorney, economic development director, airport director. Member of Florida, Utah, Federal District Courts of Utah and Northern Florida.
