I provide legal nurse consulting services to lawyers and physicians. My practice has evolved into a full-service medical practice management and legal nurse consulting firm assisting providers in managing administrative, clinical, financial, and operational systems. I am also available to offer services to organizations in need of risk assessment, utilization review, medical records review, interpretation, or analysis and records review with related to JCAHO standards and “in-house” policies and procedures.

Experience & Qualifications

I am the Founder and President of MidSouth Medical Management & Consulting. I graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree in 1983 and I am certified as an Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator and Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant. I have more than 25 years of clinical nursing experience. For the past 15 years, I have worked as the Administrator and Chief Financial Officer for Chapel Hill Surgical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where I developed expertise in medical practice management, physician privileging and credentialing, JCAHO survey preparations, and marketing of outpatient surgery centers. Before joining Chapel Hill Surgical Center, I managed the development, launch, and day-to-day operations of a successful vascular and thoracic surgery practice. I also founded a health and wellness business serving over 1000 clients. Prior to attending nursing school, I worked in both print and television journalism as a copywriter and reporter.
My nursing experience includes the areas of surgery, oncology, women’s health, and labor and delivery. Other areas of expertise include practice management, development of policies and procedures, human resource and staff management, risk assessment and avoidance, and Joint Commission preparations.
