Using an ecclectic approach between the recovery model and mental health model provides my clients with both support and accountability.

Experience & Qualifications
I have been practicing academic and mental health counseling, psychotherapy, addictions counseling, and family and marriage therapy, beginning in 1976 when I taught the behavioral sciences and served as a student advisor. For years, I had simultaneous careers in education (professor of education, human resources, and psychology, and Academic Dean and Dean of Student Services) and academic advising/counseling. Around 1990, I began to transition more toward mental health and addictions counseling, and by 2002 had completely transitioned into mental health. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, community health agencies, a private psychiatric practice, and two chemical dependency treatment centers. My practice has included client disorders ranging from relatively mild adjustment disorders to severe and persistent psychological illnesses.
