My expertise is in addiction counseling (including alcohol). By utilizing Insight oriented therapy I am able to help individuals understand the choices they make and why they make them. If you are willing to accept that drugs and/ or alcohol are causing negative consequences in your life, then you are ready to begin to take steps that will lead to change. You will need to develop tools and coping skills to create change. Maslow said, "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail". If you are ready to develop new tools that will support major life changes then I would like to work with you. Family members of substance abusers are also welcome to inquiry.

Experience & Qualifications

I have worked in private treatment settings as an alcohol and drug counselor. During the last ten years I have been a contract therapist working with community based organizations serving client populations dealing with dual diagnosis and supporting families of those individuals. I conducted much of my early practice working with HIV positive individuals who were struggling with the emotional impact of their diagnosis. I have also been in private practice for the past eight years and my concentration has been varied. I work with adult individuals, couples, and as a trainer for community based organizations. The focus of my trainging expertise has been working with diverse populations and the underlying impact of oppression and the stigma of addiction. I am also a state certified multiple offender evaluator for those individuals needing help with repetative DUI problems.
