My Expert Service

Currently working with older adults as a specialty area, I assist in identifying and diagnosing slight or more marked changes in memory and cognitions, and with therapy for adjustment and coping due to a variety of stressors that affect older adults including illness, estrangement of children, retirement, marital changes, and maintaining a quality of life that is important for health and well-being.

Experience & Qualifications

I currently sit on the Medical and Scientific Committee of the Southeastern Virginia Alzheimer's Association. I have special training in geriatric psychology, having worked with a neuropsychologist during internship and now currently working in nursing and rehabilitation facilities with patients and their families. I am trained in crisis, disaster, and bereavement work and have worked in New York City and New Orleans following large-scale disasters. My theoretical orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral therapy. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and am also specially trained in the integration of religious and spiritual issues in treatment.
