My Expert Service
I have worked for over 10 years specializing in the treatment of traumatic stress, crisis, and anxiety. My most recent endeavors are with veterans and their families of combat and war trauma, abuse, loss, severe and persistent psychological distress, and displacement.
I've written, lectured, and consulted on topics surrounding the
fundamentals of existential practice, traumatic stress, and the intricacies of whole-person living.
I strive to help people become more aware of how they experience their existence. This is not so easy to do when some areas of living may seem senseless. This approach centers on the emotional experience and the relational dynamics of people with connection to how they choose to live in the world around them. If you would like to learn more about this approach, I have resources I can refer you to. The hope is that through the encounter and a focus upon relationship, choice, intentionality in the here and now circumstances of life, the barriers to being can be removed to reveal greater freedom in expression.
Although most areas of life can be approached through an online format, some cannot. If you find that you are in a severe emotional or medical crisis, thinking of killing or hurting yourself or someone else, or feeling completely out of control at this moment, please contact your local emergency number (i.e., 911).

Experience & Qualifications
I am currently in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, a part-time professor, consultant, and the editor for the San Francisco Psychological Association's quarterly publication. I've worked as a clinical director, researcher, and psychologist within private and public sectors. Specific experiences have ranged from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Native American reservation clinics, public government agencies, and in private practice. I have worked closely with combat and war veterans and their families, in domestic violence situations, LGBTQ communities, crisis management, grief and loss, suicide, various types of abuse recovery, and relationship consultations. My philosophy is based in existential foundations of depth-work, such as exploring meaning-making, freedom, choice, and how anxieties arise around such themes in being, and seeing adversity as the impetus for growth.
I have and continue to write (and teach) a great deal on my work, which I would be happy to provide give you my literary references upon request.
