My Expert Service

I have worked with people of all ages, individuals, couples and families for 25 years. I am a licensed mental health counselor and coach. There is a difference between aloneness and loneliness. You may or may not feel lonely when you are by yourself, but being alone simply means that there is no one else around. Being lonely means to suffer feelings of loneliness; to want people, social contact, and yet be unable to touch others around you. One can feel lonely when not alone, even when in a crowd, surrounded by people.

Experience & Qualifications

I provided counseling outreach while at a community mental health clinic and am knowledgable about all types of mental illness including depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. I served as a Guardian ad litem for the Probate Court system, assessing the competency of persons with dementia and mental health issues. I worked with older adults and their families and caregivers. I counseled disabled high school students and helped them transition from a sheltered school environment. While under a contract with Vocational Rehabilitation, I evaluated students with learning disabilities who were graduating from high school to determine their need for assistive technology in higher education. At Project Aids I counseled people with HIV/AIDS. Prior to earning an MA, I worked as a Social Case Worker for Families with Children and with the Work Incentive Program.
