I have worked for the last 4 years as a registered social worker, however have worked within mental health for the last 7.
I have experience working with those experiencing severe and persistent illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar, personality disorders as well as depression, anxiety, grief, addiction and crisis.
I have also worked with those who have experienced sexual assault, armed robbery, domestic assault and physical assault.
I have worked with youth and adults as well as provided group counselling for healthy communication.

Have been involved with Halifax Regional Police Victim Services supporting those who were victims of various crimes such as, domestic violence, sexual assault, armed robbery, physical assault. I also provided grief counselling for sudden death incidents such as suicide, motor vehicle accidents, work related accidents and homicides.
I have worked on a local crisis line for 8 years supporting those struggling with various areas of mental health or immediate crisis.
Worked in a community mental health clinic supporting those struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and relationship concerns.
I have various training and/or certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Advanced Suicide Assessment and Intervention, Domestic Violence training, Crisis and Trauma Counselling, Mental Health First Aid, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Applied Suicide and Intervention Skills training and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
