In Marriage and Couple Counseling I work toward improving communication, helping each person to understand and clarify their concerns and their needs. Most counseling is sought in times of upheaval and crisis. Couples come for treatment when one or both partners feel misunderstood, frustrated and/or deeply disappointed. Learning to listen to each other and to seek alternative solutions is important for the future growth of the relationship. Couple counseling seeks to help resolve issues of the present and also works to develop negotiating techniques that the couple can use in the future.

I worked in various psychiatric hospitals and community facilities for over 10 years. For the past 15 years, I have been in full time private practice and a large proportion of my clients have come for marriage and couple counseling or pre-maritatl counseling. I also work with people who are negotiating the difficulties of creating second families.
