I have professional experience in working with adolescents and their parents. I operate a nationally known adolescent residential program treating teens with depression, anxiety, poor social skills, bi-polar and pretty much any teen that has difficulty navigating through there teen years with success. My primary focus is helping the parent understand their teens behaviors and feelings and thus be able to learn to relate to their adolescent more effectively. I also can help identify warning signs of teen dysfunction that may require a more intense treatment. The teen years are more difficult then ever to navigate with the flood of media exposure, lack of community and weak family systems. Most of the families I deal with are very good parents and are invested in their child, they just need some advice and assistance. Its typically not about bad parenting. I can help identify your childs strengths and use them to compesate for their weaknesses, as well as give parents coaching and counseling to assure their mental health is maintained through these turbulant years of development.
