I have worked serving people in need for 20 years. I have served on a children's hospital ward where I worked with issues such as attempted suicide, victims of violence, drug use, domestic violence, child abuse, fatal illnesses such as AIDS and cancer, long term illnesses, as well as runaways and teen pregnancy. I have served as a community mental health counselor working with children and families on such issues as disobedience, incorrigible behavior, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, mother/child or father/child relationship problems, ADD, ADHD, and many more issues. I have also served as a school social worker and helped with issues such as family problems, disobedient teens, not doing well at school, skipping school, teen dating issues, teen relationship/friendship issues, teen sexuality concerns, dropping out, failing school, and special education needs.

Experience & Qualifications

I am licensed to practice mental health counseling in Florida. In addition to my formal education, I spent 2 years studying at New York University for my PhD in Human Sexuality. There, I studied extensively about human sexuality and sex education. As part of my training, we studied abroad in Sweden and Denmark. I have not finished that degree but consider myself to be an expert in sexuality issues, especially as they pertain to adolescents. I have also attended trainings too numerous to mention in areas of special topics such as treating depression, treating anxiety, play therapy, traumatology, attention deficit/hyperactivity/disorder, psychotropic medications, special education needs, drop-out intervention, and truancy prevention.
