My name is Lori Burke, MSW, LSW. I have worked with families for thirteen years. I specialize in working with families that are having difficulty interacting with one another. I work with children who are suffering from ADHD,ADD, Post Traumatic Stress, an inability to cope with everyday stressors, as well as children who are oppositional and defiant. In addition, I use a supportive, strength based approach when working with the parents in order to aid them through the process of changing their ability to interact, cope and modify their children's behavior. I teach parenting skills that increase positive behavior in children. I teach parents and their children different methods of interaction and communication in order for them to live together in a peaceful, stress free manner. It is my personal and professional goal to empower all family members to believe in themselves, and ultimately turn their negative ways of thinking and behaving into positive relationships with one another. I aid all family members them in changing their thinking about themselves, their families and their environments. Finally, I work with families to learn skills to reduce conflicts in their home environment.
