I am a licensed social worker with over 18 years working in the mental health field. This experience has included individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy. I have also worked with individuals struggling with addiction. I have taught parenting classes and conducted behavior modification with adolescents with ADHD and ADD.
My style is eclectic and generally styled to fit the indivdual. I am experienced with cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, role-playing, and other techniques. I also have experience in relaxation and guided imagery techniques. My work with parents and adolecents have included social skills training, parenting education, and disipline techinques. I have also worked with the elderly population handling end of life decisions and nursing home placement issues.
In the field of addition, I have experience with individual therapy and intensive outpatient therapy. My work has also included focus on women's and cultural issues in regards to recovery from addictions. I have also worked with adolecents regarding drug use prevention. I have worked with individuals for relapse prevention.
