My Expert Service
I approach counseling in a personal yet up-front style using an integrated approach of evidence based techniques shaped by a Humanistic-Existential view of mankind to help people succeed as a person and in their relationships by using their strengths in OUR JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE. As parents our main goal is to prepare our children to become confident, responsible, independent, well-adjusted, and compassionate human-beings. Parenting is the most difficult vocation anyone could ever undertake. Yet there is so little preparation for it. In my services providing family therapy I use both counseling and education to empower parents with the tools they need to help them parent their children, even young adult children, in ways that will build communication and enhance relationships for ultimate bonding through the use of positive discipline, behavior modification, understanding learning styles and personality differences. I can help parents learn to differentiate and effectively communicate to their child the difference between disapproving their child's behavior but yet unconditionally loving their child. Conflicts between adults can significantly impact children's behavior, and often it is by resolving those conflicts that the most progress is seen in improving the behavior of children. The family is a unit in which each person's position in the family and interaction with one another effects the well-being of the other members. It is a system. If one part of the system is broken, then the entire system itself begins to falture. Family Therapy can have a positive effect on the entire unit, even if not all the members participate. A change in one person's behavior will begin to change the reactions of another and dysfunctional patterns can be replaced with healthier and more gratifying ways of relating to one another and strengthening the family as a whole. My goal is to help families achieve that for themselves.

Experience & Qualifications
I have 25 years experience working in a variety of settings including as an In-Home Family Therapist with children, adolescents, and adults; including At-Risk teenagers as both an Educator and a Counselor. This has been my most satisfying relationship with clients as the in-home enviroment allows the professional to get a true and full picture of the individual and family dynamics in order to better serve the family system. My experience ranges from the school setting to residential, private practice and in-patient behavioral health hospitalization as well as the above. I have experience as a Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor. I am an objective, trained, yet compassionate listener who believes that whatever matters to you is worth discussing. I can be the vehicle to your finding your own solutions to whatever stumbling blocks are in the way of finding your serenity and the actualization of your aspirations for yourself. Sometimes we need to get out of our own way to find it.
