Even though the primary focus of my practice is marriage counseling, I have over 30 years experience serving on staff in churches where a large part of my responsibility was counseling with teens and adults on issues such as Grief and Loss of a Parent, a Child or a Pet; Stress and Worry; Problems with Aging; Loss of Job or Income; Guilt and Shame; Problems in the Church; Questions about salvation; Why does God allow bad things to happen?
In all these issues we can work together to help you find the answers to some of life's pressing questions. In dealing with all these issues I adhere to the ethical guidelines of professional counseling and I will not attempt to put my values or beliefs on you. Here you will find no guilt or criticism. You will find me to be an empathic listener who genuinely cares about you and wants to see you make the best of your circumstances.

Experience & Qualifications

For over 30 years I served on staff in churches where I counseled youth and adults who were dealing with questions related to dating, parenting, discipline, self-esteem, grief and spiritual issues. I'm a Christian and an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Church. When I stopped working on staff in churches I earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology and for more than 15 years gained valuable experience in Public Mental Health counseling clients with the full spectrum of mental illnesses including psychosis, depression, anxiety, anger and domestic violence. While working in the Public Mental Health system, I developed the Domestic Violence Intervention program that is currently in use in that facility. I am a charter member of the Domestic Violence Task Force in my county. Through this organization I work to raise awareness and to prevent the spread of all forms of abuse in relationships. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, a National Certified Counselor, a member of the Georgia Licensed Professional Counselors Association, and a certified Prepare / Enrich Counselor.

I don't think this expert was very good. I'm sure he's a good person, but it seemed to take him a rather long time to grasp a deep understanding of what I was talking about.
