My Expert Service

I am a licensed professional counselor for the last 10 years. My work experience has been in community mental health as well as college counseling centers and children psychiatric hospital. My clients include those from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnic minorities. I can help clients in dealing with family issues, family relationships, couples issues, relationship issues (such as dating issues, separation, marriage, infidelity, gay, lesbian and transgendered issues), as well as personal issues such as depression and anxiety. I have experience treating posttraumatic stress disorder due to rape and domestic violence and bipolar disorder. I am also sensitive to multicultural issues as I have worked with ethnic minorities such as Latinos, African Americans, and Asian Americans in a community mental health setting. I use Cognitive Behavioral techniques as well as Rogerian/Humanistic therapy to treat depression.

Experience & Qualifications

I have a M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Services. I am licensed in Pennsylvania and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am also a member of the American Counseling Association. I have also had some doctoral coursework in counseling psychology. I have treated many clients in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and relationship issues, such as infidelity and dating issues. Some techniques I have used are relaxation techniques and other cognitive behavior techniques such as thought stopping. I have also worked with psychiatrists and am very familiar with psychiatric medications. I am also a very good listener as well as a quick typist as I can empathize well with clients and help and guide clients through their most difficult times. Clients have said that I am nonjudgmental, sensitive, insightful, and sensitive to their needs.
