It is commonly believed that for some people depression is the only reasonable response to their troubled lives. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Depression is rarely a necessity. Do you feel sad, convinced no one truly cares for you, like you can't do anything right, disappointed, frustrated, angry, irritable, losing interest in the things you used to love, withdrawing from your friends and family, having difficulty paying attention or concentrating, and difficulty sleeping? If you are experiencing some of these symptoms you are likely suffering from a clinical depression. I can help you explore and gain insight into why you have become depressed. I can then help you reduce your depression by teaching you how to restructure self defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You don't have to be depressed. Change is possible.

I have 19 years experience in the field, 15 as a licensed psychotherapist. I am Licensed as a psychologist in the state of CA (PSY20963). I have worked with depressed persons in many settings including mental health centers, out-patient, partial hospitalization, colleges, universities, work sites, and prisons. I specialize in working with depressed persons from diverse backgrounds including those from the Gay and Lesbian community.
