B.A. - Psychology, MSW, LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NC and NY. Have worked as a mental health therapist and in research. Have worked for both civilian and military populations. Completed Post Master's Internship in Applied Psychophysiology/Biofeedback, have supervised graduate student interns and attened Supervision in Field Instruction, (SIFI) course, member NASW, Have maintained CEUs for licensure thru attendance of numerous continuing education clinical conferences and in-service trainings thru the Departement of Defense, DON, USMC, US Army, VA, Medical College of Virginia and other employers.

I have successfully helped numerous clients suffering from depression throughout my career. These difficulties have included adjustment disorders with depression, dysthymic disorder, major depressive disorders and other diagnostic sub-categories. I have often used cognitive behavior therapy to help clients recognize ways that they may be thinking which can be contributory to depression. We work on substituting "negative self talk" with a far healthier "internal dialogue" that improves mood.

15+ years as psychotherapist for clients suffering from all diagnostic categories of depression. This has been both with civilian and military populations. 4 years working as a research associate in twins studies which investigated the etiology of all diagnostic categories of depression. This project was undertaken through the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics.
