Please Note
Online counseling is not appropriate for all kinds of problems. If you have suicidal thoughts, it's important that you seek help immediately. You are not alone. If you are located in the US, call
1-800-784-2433 or 911 and ask for help. If you are outside the US, look here to find the support hotline in your country and area.

Degrees

I completed an EdS as well as an MS degree in Professional Counseling at Georgia State University in Atlanta. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as a Distance Certified Counselor (DCC).

My Expert Service

I work in an inpatient psychiatric and addiction unit as well as in private practice with clients who have been diagnosed with depression. I ask my clients to look at the possible cause(s) for their depression and to consider changing some of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors associated with their sadness. Healing can be a joyous process, and I have a great deal of experience with that process. If you contact me, I will probably ask you to complete several exercises that will help you clarify your thoughts and feelings. I have a "deal" with my clients: I will never ask you to change, but I will ask you to look within yourself.

Experience & Qualifications

I am currently a Weekend Case Manager on Ridgeview Institute's Adult Psychiatric and Addiction unit in Atlanta, Ga. In the recent past, I worked as a Behavioral Health Counselor at Dekalb Medical on the Inpatient Mental Health unit. I also worked as an outpatient Clinical Therapist on an Emory University research project which, co-sponsored by the American Heart Association, examined the effect of 12 sessions of CBT on clients suffering from depression. I was a Clinical Intern in the Northside Recovery Center (Substance Abuse) at Atlanta's Northside Hospital. I currently counsel clients with depression in my private practice at East Paces Counseling in Atlanta.
