I have worked serving people in need for 20 years. I have served on a children's hospital ward with isues such teen dating and violence. I have served as a community mental health counselor working with adults and families on such issues as abuse, power and control, and domestic violence in general. I have helped women who have relocated due to a violent partner, as well as men who have been abused verbally and emotionally. I have also served as a school social worker and helped numerous women who have moved themselves and their children due to domestic violence situations. I am skilled at providing life saving emergancy information as well as picking up the pieces after a break with a violent partner. I have also counseled same sex, ie gay and lesbian couples who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence via a community center/church.

Experience & Qualifications

In addition to my formal education, I spent 2 years studying at New York University for my PhD in Human Sexuality. There, I studied extensively about human sexuality and sex education. As part of my studies, we studied abroad in Sweden and Denmark. I have not finished that degree but consider myself to be an expert in sexuality issues. I have also attended trainings too numerous to mention in areas of special topics such as domestic violence, depression, anxiety, and traumatology. As a state licensed counselor, I am required to attend training every two years in the area of chld abuse and domestic violence.
