Self love/respect is the foundation of life. Without self esteem-well-there is nothing. In abusive relationships there is a fundamental breakdown of the person as the abuser chips away at the mind, spirit as well as the body. Abusers use a tactic called gaslighting in which they succeed in making their victim feel crazy. There are acqusations, untruths, warnings, withholding of simple things such as evening conversation to not allowing one to spend time with family members (because I love you so much that I don't want to share you with anyone).I bring maturity, and vast knowledge of this field. I can help you understand, validate you, that you are not the crazy one. Please allow me to help. This is a difficult process. It was not created overnight. It takes time and work as together we will get you to appreciate the good person you really are.

Experience & Qualifications

I have had a private practice since 1985 dealing with the individual and family in a broad spectrum of issues. My specialty is incest survivors and the resultant drug, alcohol and sexual orientation issues that arise from this difficult past. I am a supervisor of therapists working with family violence, dissociative and addictive disorders. In addition I have taught psychology on the college level for many years and worked with the criminally insane in a state institution.
