My Expert Service

“CHANGE your LIFE!” Are you often feeling down, worried, tense, experiencing relationship troubles, or feeling overwhelmed in work/school settings? Are you anxious from the recession, worried about being laid off from your job? Have you been having trouble with sleep? Do you have concerns that you are drinking too much, or over using party drugs? Do you have concerns about other addictions such as sex, gambling, food, or spending? Do you and your partner argue about doing the chores, sex, drinking, money, or stress? Do you find it hard to communicate with others? Have you recently tested positive for HIV?

Experience & Qualifications

I have worked with traumatic diagnoses for the past 10 years. These have ranged from most recently working with patients diagnosed with all stages and forms of cancer to patients dealing with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS. I have work with young adults who have been recently diagnosed to older adults who have been living with HIV/AIDS for a number of years. I worked for four years as a clinical therapist at Aids Healthcare Foundation Westside (AHF) and Valley clinics. Much of the work I did at AHF dealt with substance abuse and internalized homophobia. In May of 2005 I presented a Lecture at the National HIV/AIDS social work conference in Washington D.C. on the topic of internalized homophobia and its correlation with crystal-Meth use. During my fours years there I also co-facilitated a weekly support group for adults living with HIV/AIDS. Prior to my work at AHF I did a one-year internship at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, where I specialized in substance abuse, internalized homophobia, coming out issues, relationships, depression and anxiety. I also co-facilitated a weekly crystal- Meth support group there.
