My Expert Service

The most effective tools in counseling are listening with complete presence, objective awareness, clarity of mind and physical ease. This is true in face to face counseling as well as online counseling. The person who is need of compassion, understanding and acceptance will also respond favorably through cyberspace when these qualities are present in the therapist. While there is a lot of room for projection on both sides of the screen, empathy must be the first consideration. After you have that in place within yourself, and the client feels your true concern, you can use many effective tools for the online experience. In some cases online counseling can be more effective than face to face counseling! Some of the therapeutic methods I can assist you with are cognitive/behavioral, rational/emotive, Adlerian social, humanistic/gestalt, existential, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, self psychology, dialectic behavior therapy, marriage and family, family systems, child/parent relationship and transpersonal therapy.

Experience & Qualifications

My experience includes: A 36 month graduate program that encompassed all schools of psychology, with a transpersonal specialization; private practice as a member of a state licensed clinic working therapeutically with individuals children couples and families for 16 years; Mental Health Specialist and Supervisor within a government funded clinic for severe emotionally disturbed children and their families. Supervision of clinicians (from interns to licensed counselors and social workers) was provided weekly. I also supervised skills trainers who worked with children in their classrooms and in their homes, developing behavior programs, and restructuring cognitive pattering. In addition, I worked as a mental health consultant to teachers, parents, and school counselors for Federally funded preschool programs and schools (grades K-12)for 10 years. And finally, as a federally contracted mental health reviewer for nation wide Head Start Programs.
