Just a short note to introduce myself to you.
My name is Allen and this is part of my story...
I was born in the early sixties and grew up in a family of craftsman. Some of my earliest memories are of my Dad making furniture and forging knives while spending time with my grandfather showing me gems and jewelry tools and explaining them to a fascinated 5 year old. I was definitely hooked at this early age and I often worked on my "own" projects along side them. They were just as happy to give some materials and old tools to keep an inquisitive youngster occupied for awhile, but they were patient and profound mentors of their art too.
Parallel to this, my interest in the Mystical came at an early age as well and developed along with my art. I made my first remedial ring at age 10, after already studying astrology for over a year by then. I became a student of Paramansa Yogananda's teaching at age 12 and have studied mysticism, yoga, qigong and meditation ever since. I was initiated and became a Kriyaban when I was 16.
I formally initiated studies in 1981 with the renowned tropical astrologer, Joan McEvers, who by fortune was living in my home town. Joan was a transcendent teacher and from her I learned not to blindly follow any technique but to test through experience. About this same time, I received my diploma in western astrology from the Colegio Internacional deAstrologia. I began reading charts professionally in 1987. I continued to study and practice western tropical astrology while studying Hindu Predictive Astrology (Jyotish, or Vedic Astrology) with masters in this field. In 1998, I decided to concentrate solely on Hindu Predictive Astrology.
It has been my mission to identify troubling areas in peoples lives and help them through remedial measures. This is the power of the Jyotish system. The indications of astrology can be of use only if the unfavorable influences can be averted and the favorable enhanced.
I have always been an "experience first" practitioner, accepting nothing blindly without first putting it to the test. This approach has led me to test first hand many different remedies and astrological techniques distinguishing those that are inconsistent and unreliable.
I work as custom jeweler for one of the largest specialty retail jewelers in the country. Additionally, since 2000 I have been concentrating on ayurvedic remedial jewelry and art metal.
I successfully cleared my exams and I am a certified Jyotish Visharad (Jyotish Master). I maintain my connection to the Vedic traditions of India through a direct relationship with my primary Jyotish Guru, Sri VK Choudhry.
