There are two main types of dreams, (REM) rapid eye movement and Lucid dreams which means that you are aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming.
Often while we dream our spirit leaves our body, this is called an (OBE) or out-of-body-experience. It is also called astral travel or astral projection. During this time we are capable of visiting anyone anywhere and in any realm.
Sometimes our dreams contain memories of our past lives.
Reincarnation is the belief that when a person dies, their body decomposes but their soul lives on and often is reborn into another body. The goal of reincarnating is to reach perfection. Heaven has many levels. The way to achieve the highest level is to reincarnate here on Earth and to learn and teach as much as possible while we are here.
Karma is the law of cause and affect. What comes around goes around. All evil that you put out into the world will come back to you and all of the good that you give to the world will also return to you however, we often are not rewarded for our good deeds until after death.
Déjà vu is that gut feeling that you are reliving an exact same moment that you have lived before. Déjà vu is actually a remembrance of a dream that you had the night before. We are often forewarned during our sleep about the next days coming events.
Nightmares are caused by a multitude of reasons but most of the time they are stress induced. Our brain just is not willing to fully shut down. After stressful situations have been resolved, nightmares usually leave us.
