While dreaming, we sometimes tap into the reservoir of knowledge contained in the universal consciousness. Sometimes dreams take us into past life experiences.
Some dream symbols (e.g., colors, objects, gender, age) are universal to all dreamers. Others are unique to the individual dreaming. That's why simply reading a dream manual about your sleep experiences may not provide the explanations that feel right to you.
