The I-Ching is a binary system, built upon the two most basic energies of the universe: Yin and Yang, associated with water and earth. Yin is the cool darkness of shadows and mysteries, as well as strength and flexibilty, adaption, patience and endurance. Yang is the masculin creative energy of initation: fixed, forceful, aggresive, and dominating, embodied in fire, air, heat and light. In the I-Ching , these energies are depicted by linear symbols called yao. Yin is represented bu a broken line "---" and Yang by a solid line"-" In cosmology underlying the I ching, the eight elements of the natural world are -heaven-earth-water-fire-thunder-wind-moutain-and lake. All you must do to get a positive I-Ching reading is ask the I ching questions, and how ever they are presented, you read them using medition and drift into a blissful state to recover accurate answers to your concerns
