Breakups and divorces are never bloodless. Whether or not you are the one who was left, breaking a romantic tie is always difficult. It is normal to feel unsettled, sad, and unsure. I am a specialist in romantic relationship difficulties, especially breakups and divorce. I would be honored to serve as a sounding board and emotional support for you during this hardest of transitions. Sometimes it helps just to have someone to tell your side of things to, someone who is not invovled personally and who can be compassionate yet objective. I can be that person. If you contact me, I will do my best to provide gentle guidance and compassionate understanding so that you don't have to feel alone while you do the hard work of re-establishing your life.
Please understand that I am not, however, a psychologist. Should you feel seriously depressed to the point where you feel you may harm yourself or anyone else, please see a certified counselor (MSW, or practicing psychologist) as soon as possible. My transition coaching is meant to make the stress of divorce or breakup more bearable; it should not be seen as an alternative to appropriate mental health care.
Also, I am *not* an attorney. I cannot advise you regarding the legalities of your divorce. I can listen to your stresses and be moral support for you regarding court issues, but this is where my ability to help in this area ends. Be sure to contact a legal professional in your state, to make sure that your interests are adequately represented if your situation will involve court or legal documents.

I have Masters and Doctoral level degrees in a field of family scholarship. My dissertation focused on marital separation, and I currently research the divorce process and postdivorce conflict.
