I believe there are three types
of romantic relationships that help lead one to wholeness: twin flames, soul
mates and karmic relationships. Twin flames were created together as a single
breathe of the creator and then separated into balanced souls one masculine and
one feminine but each with the same divine soul pattern.
Twin souls spend some lifetimes
together and others apart but their tie is eternal. I believe that after each
has completed their soul's lessons they will be together forever. I feel many
people mistake the twin flame connection for that of a soul mate, but they are
very different creatures. Where we each have only one twin flame, we can have a
countless number of soul mates. Soul mates sometimes share a similar calling in
life. A soul mate can be a partner, friend, colleague, relative, pastor, kindred
spirit or helpmates who are often working to develop the same virtues or learn
the same lessons in life.
Our soul mate relationships, more often than not tend
to be harmonious and as kindred spirits, we can accomplish great things as
teams. There is also the karmic relationship. In this case, two people would
come together to resolve mutual karma. This sort of relationship may bring the
strongest attraction because the soul has a deep desire to be free. Your soul
will often just know that this relationship is a vehicle that will allow it to
resolve karma. Burning that karma can sometimes be harsh and there can be a
feeling of loneliness because a relationship based solely on karma can not by
nature be lasting.
They are frequently difficult, but these relationships are
important in achieving self-mastery on the spiritual path. This is why it is so
important to try to understand the nature of your relationship and reviewing
your path in life so that you can see when you are going to attract happiness
and a lasting partner if that is what you are desiring. I feel like the soul
mate
connection is important to understand because it unlocks so much about the very
nature of how you and your partner relate and if or why you can last as a team.
