Is there a difference between a spirit and a ghost vs. an Entity?
"spirit" has many differing meanings and connotations, but commonly refers to a supernatural being or essence — transcendent and therefore metaphysical in its nature: the Concise Oxford Dictionary defines it as "the non-physical part of a person".Incorporeal or uncarnate means without the nature of a body or substance. The idea of incorporeality refers to the notion that there is an incorporeal realm or place, that is distinct from the corporeal or material world.
Incorporeal beings are not made out of matter in the way a physical, material being exists.(example Angles and demons) The idea of the immaterial is often used in reference to God or the Divine.
An entity is something that has a distinct, separate existence, though it need not be a material existence.Spirit-#1. The vital principle or animating force within living beings.2. Incorporeal consciousness.
# The soul, considered as departing from the body of a person at death.
# Spirit The Holy Spirit.
# A supernatural being, as:1. An angel or a demon.
2. A being inhabiting or embodying a particular place, object, or natural phenomenon.
3. A fairy or sprite.
