Be prepared to hear the truth. If you are doing everything you can to maintain or create lasting relationships, that is what you will hear. If your actions or attitude prevent you finding the happiness and security you are looking for, you will hear that as well.
My advice will be better than the advice you will receive from a friend. A friend will tell you what you want to hear not matter what. I will not do this to you, so please do not expect me to. I do not sugar coat. Even though sometimes the truth can hurt at first, truth is where solutions can be found. It hurts more to be given harmful advice that creates even more problems. I expect my clients to be as honest with their feedback as I am with my advice. Those who do tell you everything is perfect all the time are probably not being honest.
