Currently, I am working as a Risk Analyst at a bank. My responsibilities include maintenance and analysis of operational risk data and coordination with business and support groups for operational risk profiling. I am also responsible for reviewing the bank’s outsourcing and insurance policies, and business continuity plans. Research and analysis are an integral component of this work. Before this, I was working as a Research Associate on a Microfinance project organized by my university and funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)in which I was required to analyze the state of microfinance in my country using primary and secondary data. I contributed to writing papers and summarizing research findings for publication. Also, I was responsible for collecting and consolidating data and empirical research for the evaluation of research findings. Apart from these, I have also worked as a Teacher for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with the Princeton Review. I have also help many internships in which I was responsible for writing, research, and analysis, including an internship with Shorebank International for Project WHAM (Widening Harmonized Access to Microfinance) in which I developed a database to evaluate the success of microfinance on socioeconomic welfare of small and medium enterprises. This was done through conducting primary and secondary research on the success of microfinance by visiting microfinance institutions, accessing institutions’ database and interviewing clients based on their financial performance. I also worked as an intern in the publications department of a local NGO, where I was responsible for edited reports and documents, and providing assistance with the writing and publishing of organization’s report on women’s engagement in democratization, representation and the local government structure. I also formulated a budget proposal for a project aimed at providing an education and training program for empowerment of rural women.
Besides my formal employment and internships, I have successfully completed a number of research projects during the course of my university education. Some research papers that I have written include Importance of Investment in Human Capital, Savings and Investments in Pakistan, Implications of Foreign Aid on the Pakistani Economy, Role of Education in Development, Gender Bias in Labor Markets, Policy Recommendation for Healthcare System.
