·Applications that interact with "Sage Line 50", these applications can both input and output data to/from Sage.
·Any Database applications, with paradox as back end for single/multi-user system.
·File converter applications such as applications that read in a CSV into a database and vice-a-versa.
·Automated file/data backup applications.
·Other miscellaneous applications.

Experience & Qualifications

Before I started at University I was working as a Software engineer for a Company called Pennine Industries as an in house programmer, programming in mainly Delphi and some VB. I was working there for 4 years before University and then I worked part time there until recently while I was at university for income to fund my course and keeping my skills fresh.
The programs I have done in that time include...
·A Swipe System Program, which all employees now use as a clocking in system, which then calculates their hours, this is connected to a central database.
·EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) programs that take orders that come in, in electronic format from other companies which then, I import them into our Accounting System (Sage Line 50). Another program is one that will separate program to take the invoices from sage and send them in electronic form to the relevant customers.
·A Absence Planning program allowing employees to keep track of holiday Entitlement, this program includes calculations working out the sick days entitlement, special rules and an ability to add a variety of types of absences.
·A customer program with the ability to keep track of over 9000 current and potential customers, coupled with a SQL search engine and a verity of reports telling the sales manager what he needed to know i.e. who to send catalogues to etc.
·A C.D. Catalogue program to display to perspective customers with Pennines product range in an emotive and user-friendly format with a variety of functions including e-mail and postal ordering of products, search by key words and display of promotional videos etc.
·Various Stock Control, Stock Purchasing and Stock moving programs, this included programming the scanners for Stock Control, in a language called ADK (A none visual language).
·Developing a TCP/IP Server programs, which mean only one application (the server) would have direct access to the databases reducing the risk of corruption. With the client you can access the database anywhere in the world.
