I am an experienced marketing professional with over 5 years of rich marketing experience. My expertise includes product launches, brand planning &strategy, segmentation, marcom, creative planning, PR, media planning, market research and event planning. My most prominent work experience has been the successful launch of Zong (China Mobile’s 1st international Brand in Pakistan) in the most challenging of circumstances.
I am currently working as Group Brand Manager in Nestle Pakistan's dairy business.
i have also worked for two of the leading Telecom operators in Pakistan i.e. China Mobile Pakistan and Mobilink GSM (A subsidiary of Orascom Telecom) as a brand professional.
Following are some of the key projects that i have successfully managed.
• Core member of the team that Successfully developed and consolidated the 5 year Market Business Strategy(MBS) document for Nestle' Pakistan and Afghanistan. The document was presented to the top management in the Nestle'Headquarters in Vevey' and very well appreciated.
•Launch of Zong- China Mobile’s first international brand: Lead the brand team for development of launch strategy for Zong. Starting off from phasing out of Paktel from the market, image building campaign for China Mobile, arrival/introduction campaign for Zong and ultimately the offer campaign. All campaigns included an extensive PR campaign alongside main communication. Zong was able to achieve a landmark of 1 million customers in just 20 days which is an all time industry record.
•Development of Zong Brand positioning: Lead the brand team through an extensive exercise to develop the positioning for the brand. The exercise included the identification of consumer segments, long term brand character, values, differentiation and tagline/punch line for the brand. Positioning of the brand was recognized as being very unique and appealing to the general consumer.
•Extensive research on China and Chinese products: Conducted a detailed focus group study on the perception of china in general and Chinese products. This was followed by another round of FGD’s to identify the gaps available in the mobile industry. Recommendations from both researches formed the basis for the overall launch strategy.
•Launch of female Package (Jazz Ladies First): Design, development and execution of the campaign from initiation to execution. The package was launched with customized packaging designed exclusively for female community. The campaign managed half a million users within two weeks of launch.
•Launch of Jazz youth Package (Jazz Octane): Design, development and execution of the campaign from initiation to execution. Jazz Octane is mainly targeted towards urban youth and managed over a million conversions within one month of launch.
•Launch of industry’s most successful MNP campaign: Lead the brand team for the launch of industry’s most successful MNP campaign. Campaign was instrumental in development of consumer understanding of MNP. As a result MNP numbers for Zong increased by 500%.
