My Expert Service

Many people are confused by negative patterns in relationships. Often, people want to change someone else rather than look at themselves. Abuse is often rooted in power and control issues. Other hidden dynamics that affect relationships include co-dependency traits and Narcissism and Anti-Social personality disorders. Rather than engage in denial or avoid confrontations, it's important to deal with negative patterns of relating with a significant other or family members in order to promote well-being and personal growth for yourself and others who are open to change. Setting boundaries and practicing assertive communication are key skills for detaching and lessening the impact of destructive people and situations affecting your life.

Experience & Qualifications

"Life is difficult...but once we accept this great truth, it no longer matters..." -- This condensed quote from "The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck, M.D., is worth heeding. We can only solve problems in life by acknowledging them and taking responsibility for our part. I was Co-writer/Editor of “The Road Less Traveled and Beyond,” (1997) by the internationally-known author, M. Scott Peck. Since 2005, I have been Owner/President of LeFlore Communications. From 1993 to 2005, I was a Provider or Manager in human services, education and community health programs. My professional experience includes ten years as a Provider of mental health and substance abuse counseling working with diverse populations across the lifespan. I provided psychotherapy for individuals, groups and families; coordinated special projects and facilitated therapeutic, educational and experiential groups inclusive of dual-diagnosis, anger management, life skills and relationship issues for women and men.
