The LivePerson infrastructure is hosted in advanced, best-of-breed data centers operated by recognized industry leaders Equinix and Digital Realty Trust. LivePerson selected these vendors both for their proven leadership in hosting services for high-capacity businesses and for their adherence to the highest industry standards of quality, reliability and security. Their commitment to excellence enables LivePerson to deliver 24-hour service, 365 days a year.

Co-locations ensure continuous service

By storing the application and your application data in multiple data center locations in the United States and Europe at all times, LivePerson ensures continuous service in the event of power disruptions or natural disasters in any particular region. Our primary data center in the U.S. is located in Ashburn, Virginia, while the disaster recovery site is Oakland, California. The primary data center in Europe is located in London, England, with the disaster recovery in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Physical and environmental security

LivePerson’s datacenters utilize a comprehensive array of security equipment, techniques and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to our facilities. LivePerson’s servers are located in private, restricted cages secured by biometric access control systems – and whenever anyone accesses a cage, their activity is monitored and recorded.

To protect the integrity of our systems, most of the security controls within our datacenters are confidential. Some of the more visible measures in our data centers include: 

  •  Security officers onsite 24/7
  • Excellent exterior and interior intrusion- and tamper-prevention systems
  •  Advanced array of closed circuit TV (CCTV) camera and recording systems
  •  Private, restricted cage access
  •  Two-factor biometric access control systems

Strict security policies are enforced at all times, and confirmed by frequent, comprehensive security audits and tests. Specifications for our security systems can be found in LivePerson’s SAS 70 Type II audit report, as well as in the SAS 70 Type II reports of our hosting vendors who have undertaken these audits.

All LivePerson data centers are built to effectively withstand natural disasters including fires, floods and earthquakes. In addition, power is delivered to our data centers via distributed redundant UPS systems, backup batteries and independent diesel generators – to minimize the potential for power outages to cause service interruptions.
