One of our exemplary home designs is Heather's Home, which is the first LEED Platinum home in Texas and third in the nation. Heather's Home has also been recognized by the NAHB Research Center as a leader in energy-efficient construction. As the winner of a 2007 Gold EnergyValue Housing Award (EVHA) in the custom home/hot climate category, Heather's Home has demonstrated a laudable commitment to building energy-efficient homes. The award-winning 1,994-square-foot home was designed with the goal of creating a sustainable, high-performance dwelling that an average family could afford. Notable features include advanced sealing and ductwork in conditioned space, 100 percent fluorescent lighting, a solar thermal water heating system, and a rooftop water collection system with 5,000-gallon storage tank to supply water for irrigation and flushing toilets.
