George Wheelis is a 1997 graduate of the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1991 he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina.

Experience & Qualifications

His experience includes twelve years caring for small animal patients as well as livestock. Prior to graduation he worked for four years as a veterinary technician. As a practicing veterinarian, he has a strong interest in diabetes and thyroid disease. He also works as an advisor for independent, privately owned veterinary hospitals and he is a GLG council member. Dr. Wheelis is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and he is also fully accredited by the USDA. He is familiar with veterinary domestic and international shipping requirements. His training also included the formal study of foreign animal diseases, such as foot and mouth disease, at the USDA's Plum Island facility.
