ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
ENTERPRISE EMAILING SYSTEM (JSP + SQL)
Developed an internal web-based messaging system for an intranet. The system resembled an e-mail system (with inboxes, trash folders, message limits, and other features) and supported a large number of users and user classes with different policy restrictions. Used ERwin, JSPs, JavaBeans and Oracle.
ACCOUNTING SYSTEM (JSP + SQL)
A private real project for Al-Barkaat Credit Society. A web based application for managing the accounts of a welfare trust called Al-Barkaat Credit Society. The application included handling member accounts, Issuance of loans and receipt of installments and a comprehensive reporting module which could generate ledgers, individual account information etc.
COMPILER FOR PASCAL LIKE LANGUAGE (Visual C++)
Semester project for the course “Compiler Construction”. Scanner, LR Parser, Semantic Analyzer and Code generator (for a stack based assembly) were written from scratch covering major concepts of compiler construction.
ELECTRONIC ELECTION SYSTEM (NTL for C++)
A secure electronic election system developed as a semester project for a graduate level course named “Computational Number Theory and Cryptography” using secure cryptographic algorithms. The system ensures that the identity of the voter and the votes he/she cast cannot be disclosed. The system also implements a secret sharing algorithm so that the result of the election can only be disclosed if a fixed predetermined number of authorities agree to publish the results. Along with other cryptographic protocols the system also implements zero knowledge protocols to ensure the authenticity of the voters, authorities and their published information.
DESIGN OF ORDER MANAGEMENT MODULE OF AN ERP (Team Project)
Developed design, test cases and test plans for an Order Management System module, part of an ERP system.
Used Rational Rose, ERwin, Microsoft Visio.
FINAL YEAR PROJECT: NU WATERMARKING TOOL (C#.NET)
Team Leader for this 4-member group in the first phase of the project.
The project included understanding and implementing basic watermarking algorithms and studying the overall domain and finally coming up with our own algorithm based on edge detection with the goal of making the watermark robust against compression.
MULTITASKING KERNEL (ASSEMBLY x86)
A program that runs other programs or part of the same program concurrently. The program uses a linked list of process control blocks to handle the situation.
FIGHTING GAME (VISUAL C++)
Object Oriented Programming class project. A primitive 3rd person fighting game. The concepts of inheritance and polymorphism were used to develop the game.
