Experience & Qualifications

I have now worked extensively throughout South East Asia since 1990 with both pre and post operative sex reassignment surgery (SRS) transsexual and related gender patients/clients in both clinical and therapeutic settings. It was earlier during this period that I decided to utilize my past therapeutic skills that I had gained during my 18 year career as a UK social worker. To obtain further education, study and specialize in Gender and Sexual Identity Disorder issues. I have since developed a keen deep interest and understanding of the relevant issues and in doing so have become increasingly aware of the needs and adverse difficulties faced and endured by the transgendered individual living within a hostile environment. These experiences have led me to my current position of working both online, and face to face with a high number of Transgender clients. I currently carry out assessments of readiness for hormones and SRS I further provide time limited therapeutic intervention for gender different clients suffering dysphoria, cross-dressing activity and other gender related issues I commenced my professional career within the 'caring profession' in the U.K. from 1972 through to 1990. Initially in 'Child Care Assessment social work Teams then after gaining a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work and Diploma in Social Work. I transferred from Residential Child care to a Local Authority Children and Families division to take up the position of Children and Families social worker, as part of a team of Child Protection Social workers later becoming a social work team manager. I also under took Mental Health specialist training as an Approved Social Worker and was responsible for carrying out independent Mental Health Assessments in the community under relevant sections of the then, Mental Health Act. I during that time appointed to the position of Child Protection Manager within local a area social work office and later within a hospital setting with a number of Local Authority Social Service Departments in London U.K. I during my long social work career also worked extensively within the UK court system, with the elderly, the disabled, mentally ill clients, and adolescants and as an Aids/HIV worker and carried out court assessments as an Adoption Reporting Officer.
