My Expert Service
Services I provide include puppy education training, companion dog basic and advanced classes, care and nutrition, grooming basics, chosing the right dog for you or your family, and wholistic health of the dog. I also teach dog tricks, pet therapy techniques, socilization, service dog tasks and considerations, and helping your dog be a happy part of your family. Also I am well versed with handling grief counseling and techniques to handle the loss of your beloved pal. I have extensive knowledge of behavior problem solving and, as always, feel that positive reinforcement is the key to having a happy dog.

Experience & Qualifications

In 1980 I met my first Shetland Sheepdog, Shanti, which was a turning point in my life. Luckily I befriended a canine behaviorist who mentored me in this new endeavor. Together we established Faithful Friend Dog Training and conducted both private and class sessions. We specialized in behavioral and positive training methods which were virtually new for that time. In fact, we were also some of the first trainers to provide Puppy Education Training, also known as Puppy Kindergarten classes. We also got very involved with pet therapy programs and established Canines Who Care, Chapter 21 of Therapy Dogs International. These programs were the first programs working with pet therapy in our rural area. After two years my mentor moved away and I took over the entire business. By then we developed programs for puppies, basic and advanced adults, companion and show obedience, trick training, and specific behavior issues. As time went on I established HAPPEN, Inc. which trained service or assistance dogs. Over the 25 year period I have worked with over 4,000 canines and am still enjoying my association with all faithful friends!
