I am a residence in neurology, doing research in the field of Mobius syndrome at a large medical center in the Netherlands. I am performing a genetical and clinical study in sporadic and familiar patients. I would be happy to answer any inquiries regarding the syndrome, furthermore I am very interested in familiar cases with Mobius syndrome.

I am studying correlations between genotype and fenotype in Mobius syndrome. Previously we found two different genetic loci in two Dutch families. At the moment we are bussy with fine mapping of the regions, and we intend to test, in the near future, these and other candidate genes in our sporadic Mobius patients. Furthermore, I am studying the clinical aspects of the syndrome in familiar and sporadic Mobius patients, including neurological and ophthalmological examinations, and also laboratory studies such as radiological and electrophysiological investigations.
