Since graduating with my RN in 1987, I have worked full-time in mental health, primarily in an outpatient clinic. I have specialized experience in Depression, Bipolar Disorder (Manic-Depression), and Anxiety Disorders such as PTSD, Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. I have also worked for many years counselling people living with HIV. I worked specifically with people with Eating Disorders for 3 years. My philosophy with counselling is that listening empathically and non-judgementally is the first step toward helping a person. I believe that each person has it within them to better their own life and that proper counselling can help them to discover that.

23 years working full-time in mental health in a large teaching hospital that is a Centre for Excellence in Mood Disorders and HIV. Three years inpatient experience and twenty years in an outpatient clinic working with clients with every conceivable type of problem.
