My Expert Service
|
|
I write for magazines all over the world forecasting where the stock market will go in the year/years ahead under an assumed name... Koos van der Merwe. My articles are very well received, and I receive many emails from India to Spain asking for my opinion on market direction.
I am also a Pharmaceutical Chemist... and owned and managed a chain of Pharmacies.
In my life, I built and successfully sold 109 Town Houses, so I do have a general business acumen that has served me and my family well in my life.
Today I advise family and friends on business and medical health besides of course the stock market.
I have written 2 books. Brakenstroom is available in bookstores and on Kindle e-book. 'The Vase with the Many Coloured Marbles,' is also available on Kindle as an eBook and soft cover, and in bookstores through out the world. It has received excellent reviews, far better than I expected.
Today I work from my office at home. I enjoy trading the market for myself... a challenge to beat the odds, and write on the movement of the market for various publications all over the world. My email is always busy with numerous brokers and readers asking advice, which I give for a fee of $1, to be placed in the tin cup of a female homeless person. (One person told me that following my advice, his trading was so successful, he gave that tin cup $1000. The lady holding the tin cup fainted.)
I have recently published my second book, THE VASE with the MANY COLOURED MARBLES, a story on the horror of the South African apartheid system in the years of Hendrik Verwoerd. The book is available from Amazon, bookstore throughout the world and iTunes.

Experience & Qualifications

As a Technical Analyst since 1969, I have practised as a Futures and Options Trader - managed a Research Department for Stock brokers, and managed portfolios successfully for clients. I am now retired, and have written and published two books, BRAKENSTROOM and THE VASE with the MANY COLOURED MARBLES.
As a Pharmacist, I worked for a group of Wholesalers, South African Druggists, managing their Port Elizabeth Branch with more than 100 employees. I then left them after 5 years, to open a chain of Pharmacies in a town called Potchefstroom. I also formed a company, Singbros Enterprises and built 109 townhouses.
I retired in 1985 from Pharmacy and after staying at home cleaning a swimming pool for 6 months, thanked the Good Lord, when my Stock brokers asked me to join their Research Department.
After staying with them for 2 years I then joined First Financial Futures in Johannesburg trading the Futures Market. I was head hunted by Stockbrokers Irish Menell Rosenburg, and became the technical Analyst in their Research Department. I also owned and edited the very popular Stock market Newsletter, Temkin and Moon.
When I emigrated to Canada in December 1992, I wrote and passed my Investment Advisors exam, and joined a stockbrokers in Vancouver, BC and became a very successful Investment Advisor. A year later I wrote and passed my Options trading exam, and later wrote and passed my Insurance exam. I became a successful Portfolio manager.
Today, as a retiree, I have authored two books, and write for Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities and Working Money besides assisting former clients with their portfolios.
I enjoy talking with people all over the world, and invite them to join me in a Scotch on ice at 5pm every day.
Besides English, I am also fluent in Afrikaans.
