My Expert Service
|
|
I worked as an out-patient registar at a major university hospital.
Assisted patient with medical insurance information and/or issues. Escorted my patients to the location of their test or procedure. Delivered patient's specimens to the laboratory.
Contacted insurance companies and my patient's physician when additional information was needed.

I really enjoyed working in the city as an out-patient registar. I registered an average of fifty patients daily. I would escort a patient to my office, where I would obtain all the necessary information for the billing department, laboratory, the testing site and the professional performing the test. I was always more than happy to escort my patient to the testing site. Patient's are usually nervous and not feeling well when reporting to the hospital for a test I'm sure they weren't looking forward to it. If I was able to provide some comfort, I was happy to do so. My work enviroment had a lot of diversity - diversity of personality, background, culture, profession, as well as economic. I learned something new everyday. If not from a patient from one of the many physicians at the hospital. Often I would stay on the phone with a patient's insurance company until they agreed that the test ordered was medically necessary and should be covered by the patient's medical coverage.
Basically I like people and like to be of help when I can. I want the work I do to mean something or to have value for others.
