As a caregiver for my aging father, I have run across many things. One of them occurred recently. He developed non healing wounds in his heels complicated by an antibiotic resistant infection. The doctors wanted to amputate the bottom portion of both legs. In fact, they were quite animated about it. I knew my Father would hate that, so I did my own research and opted for maggot therapy. His legs were saved. After this horrendous experience I felt the need to spread the word and possibly help others with their infections and non healing wounds.
Licensing is not required to administer this therapy, but a prescription is required to obtain the sterile maggots.
